CLASS LEVELS

The Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre Swim School has swimming programs to suit everyone.

Austswim certified instructors teach the ideal balance of swimming skills and water confidence in a safe and friendly environment.

Class sizes are small to ensure you and/or your child receive quality tuition.

The Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre Swim School is an Austswim registered swimming program and Swim Australia Certified Swim School.

PARENT AND BABIES

Aqua Babies (6 months - 15 months)
Water Babies (16 months - 24 months)
We provide a bright and happy environment, facilitating interaction between baby, parent and instructor. The aim of the classes is water familiarisation through, games activities and plenty of encouragement.
20 minute classes
7 per class (parent in water with baby)



PRE-SCHOOL

2 years - 5 years
These classes develop water confidence safety and co-ordination. Through games and activities children are introduced to floating, kicking, submerging, controlled breathing and basic swimming strokes.
30 minute classes
4 per class (Penguins)
4 per class (Periwinkles, Starfish)
5 per class (Swordfish)



SCHOOL AGE

5 years and up
Children of all abilities are catered for - beginners, stroke improvement and advanced. This comprehensive program develops a wide range of skills to ensure children are competent in all strokes, water safety and survival.
30 minute class
5 per class (Frogs, Seahorse, Stingray, Sealion)
6 per class (Seals)
7 per class (Dolphins)



SQUADS

All ages
Squad classes are offered to those children and teenagers involved in competitive aquatic sports - or who are simply interested in keeping fit and healthy. Sessions concentrate on stroke development and refinement as well as building strength and stamina.
Our program is headed by Tony Shaw.
Squad training times are:
Monday – Friday 5.00am – 7.00am & 4.00pm – 6.00pm or 4.30pm – 6.30pm
Saturday 6.00am – 8.00am



ADULT CLASSES

All ages and all levels
It is never too late to learn! The Sydney Aquatic Centre conducts friendly and relaxed classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Learn to swim classes feature the development of water confidence, safety skills and basic strokes. Intermediate and advanced classes include stroke correction, breathing techniques and improved fitness.

45 minute class - Beginner (max 6 per class)
45 minute class - Intermediate (max 7 per class)
45 minute class - Advanced (max 8 per class)



ADULT SQUADS

Catering to those over 18 who are competing or just wanting to keep fit. Sessions are of 2.5 - 4k in distance, so members need to have a basic fitness level that will enable them to swim at least 1 1/2k in 1 1/2 hours. From this we can builld your stamina & fitness. If you don't believe you can complete the 1 1/2k in 1 1/2 hours we recommend some adult advanced classes to help.

Training Times
Monday, Wednesday & Friday 5.00am - 7.30am


HOLIDAY INTENSIVE SWIM PROGRAMS


Holiday Intensive Swim Programs are conducted during all school holidays for children. Programs of this nature are ideal for improving swimming skills fast and effectively. See the Swim School Calendar for dates of the holiday intensive swim programs for children.

You do not have to be enrolled in our term program to register for our Holiday Intensive Swim Program.



SPECIAL NEEDS CLASSES

Qualified and experienced Special Needs Instructors cater for most adults and children with disabilities, from beginners to those wishing to join a squad.
Classes depend on lane availability.



PRIVATE TUITION

For those needing individual attention private classes can be arranged. Our instructors will assist you in achieving individual goals. All abilities are catered for.
We can organise one on one private lessons or if requested a group private (for example a group of friends or family members). However if students are of differing swimming ability we recommend that you book one on one private lessons for maximum benefit.

A minimum of 5 lessons must be booked.
Times are dependant on lane availability.
