SOPAC SWIM TEAM & SWIM TEAM (MASTERS)
GENERAL INFORMATION
The swimming club’s mission is to promote swimming as a sport by actively encouraging the pursuit of competitive success and excellence. By creating a swimming club culture dedicated to innovation and excellence, we aim to promote and respect these ideals at the highest levels within the competitive swimming community and the general public.
The club is a non-profit organisation with all funds raised being reinvested into the club for the benefit of its members.
SOPAC Swim Team based at SOPAC is affiliated with NSW Swimming and are a member of the Castlereagh District Amateur Swimming Association.
The club holds a race meet each month and competes against other NSW affiliated clubs at Invitational Meets, which are hosted by fellow clubs. Club membership entitles swimmers to compete against other clubs to Metropolitan, State and National Championships.
We currently have 3 members who have been selected in the "Target 2008" Team. This is a team of the best young swimmers in NSW, who will work together in their bid to gain selection in the Olympic Team for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Our club places a great deal of emphasis on our young members. We exist not only to help fund members attending National Championships but also develop and encourage young swimmers.
