Book the perfect location for your ceremony, catering for up to 200 guests in an idyllic spot surrounded by nature in the heart of Sydney Olympic Park.  

Whether you’re looking for a big or small celebration spot for your elopement, outdoor ceremony or for somewhere to take photos to remember your big day, the Arc of Pines is the hidden gem you’ve been searching for.  

When booking the Arc of Pines, you can engage your choice of wedding suppliers and arrange décor to create a beautiful setting by Lake Belvedere.  

Your booking time includes ample time to set up and pack down after your ceremony and includes a Photography Permit for use on the same day.

This space can cater for up to 100 chairs, plus a lectern and signing table and you can decorate with floristry, an arbour or archway, rugs and up to 1 portable marquee or shade cover (maximum size of 3m x 3m). Please note: all items must be properly weighted and digging into the ground with pegs or stakes is not permitted.  

The Arc of Pines is in close proximity to the Waterview Conference Centre in Bicentennial Park.

Commercial caterers are not permitted

Please note: Commercial caterers are not permitted. Parklands Officer assistance is required for all wedding ceremonies and is included in the booking fee. Commercial suppliers subject to approval. All suppliers must have Public Liability insurance. Customers to book and organise suppliers at their own cost. Terms and conditions of booking apply.

Permitted items and activities

Hirers should discuss with SOPA before confirming their booking to ensure the Arc of Pines site is suited to proposed use.

Permitted

  • Maximum capacity 200 people.
  • Chairs (up to 100), tables, lectern.
  • Bridal party vehicles up to 3 cars; or up to 2 cars and 3 motorbikes.
  • Floristry, decorations, arbour, carpet/rugs, up to 1 portable marquee/shade (maximum size 3 metre x 3 metre in area). All items must be properly weighted. Digging into the ground, including with pegs or stakes, is not permitted. No items may be attached to trees, shrubs, or Park structures.
  • Portable PA/speakers, musician/performer – sound levels must be contained within site and directed away from Lake Belvedere.
  • Handheld or toy bubble blowers. Liquids must not be poured out.
  • BYO pre-made food and drink, or catering where only the food or drink is delivered to/brought in by the Hirer and the caterer is not operating at the Park.

 

Not permitted

  • Use or flying of drones.
  • Stages or platforms.
  • Bringing in soil, potting mix, or other organic matter.
  • Releasing or throwing of confetti, bio-confetti, rice/grains, flower petals, balloons, paint dyes, powders, streamers.
  • Releasing or feeding of birds, fish, butterflies or other animals.
  • Any fire, smoke or pyrotechnics.

 

Included with hire

The Hirer has access to, and use of, the Arc of Pines as indicated in the Hirer's booking confirmation. SOPA will communicate to Park Users that the area is hired by way of signage indicating the upcoming and current Hirer(s), and can give direction to other Park Users to vacate the area.

Time of hire is inclusive of set-up and pack-down.

Vehicle access

Four (4) car parking spaces near the Arc of Pines are reserved for the Hirer for delivery/drop-off, pick-up and priority vehicles.

Vehicle access onto pathways up to the entrance of the Arc of Pines, for delivery/drop-off and pick-up, is permitted under the escort and supervision of authorised SOPA staff.

Parklands Officer assistance

A Parklands Officer dedicated to the location is provided for the duration of an Arc of Pines booking, who can provide vehicle escorts, directions and wayfinding. Parklands Officers have additional obligations and may be required to respond to nearby priority matters unrelated to the Hirer’s booking, if they arise.

Other facilities

All other park areas and facilities (such as park BBQs, car parks, roads, paths, playgrounds, and toilets) are shared facilities. These cannot be reserved, and do not form part of the booking.

Hirers acknowledge that other unrelated activities (including events, site works, and road or area closures) may occur at the Park at the same time as booking dates, and may involve temporary closure or disruption to use of shared park facilities.

Access and vehicles

The hired space must not be closed off and access must be maintained at all times.

Motor vehicles, including motorbikes and trailers, may not travel beyond public roads and carparks – except for vehicles escorted and supervised by an authorised SOPA staff member. This assistance may be arranged for the purpose of delivery/set-down and pick-up only – vehicles and trailers cannot remain parked off-road.

Except for the four (4) car parking spaces included, additional parking reservations are not included. All Park Users must observe signposted parking conditions. Sydney Olympic Park is a Restricted Parking Area – vehicles must park in marked bays only.
