Creative Science Writing from Hypothesis to Conclusion

Contrary to popular belief, scientific writing can be as fun and inventive as fiction! Explore the bubbling questions you have about the world around you. Report on facts, guesses, and jumps to conclusions. We will take an observation walk through the surrounding Badu Mangroves Boardwalk and parkland (weather permitting). This workshop will be led by Workshop Leader Emily Chan. Emily is currently studying a Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing) at Macquarie University. Two breaks for recess and lunch. Bring lunch and a snack (no nuts, please), a drink, hat, and your curiosity.

Animal Tales

Ages: 6 - 9
Release the scary or hilarious beasts from your imagination. Tame or confront dragons, unicorns and all kinds of fantastic animals you will invent. One break for recess. Bring a snack (no nuts, please), a drink, a hat, and your curiosity!

Write Your Own Book
Thursday 9 October | 10:00 am - 3:30 pm
Ages: 8 - 13
How to set, plan, build and finish your own extended story. Create atmospheric settings, memorable characters and gripping plots. This full day will give you all the skills and inspiration you need to write your own book. Two breaks for recess and lunch. Bring a hat, lunch, snack (no nuts please), drink, and brain turned to HIGH.
